40-Year-Old Atlanta Rapper Shawty Lo Killed In Hit-And-Run Accident

On Sept. 21, Atlanta, Georgia rapper Carlos Walker— also known as Shawty Lo— died in a fatal hit-and-run accident this morning.

According WXIA 11 Alive, Walker’s 2016 Audi sedan rolled over, hit several trees and then caught fire.

Subsequently, the 40-year-old was ejected from his driver’s seat.

However, two female passengers managed to make it out alive. They were quickly transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Georgia Department of Transportation reports that Walker died immediately after being ejected.

Atlanta-based radio host Ryan Cameron was one of the first to break the news. Cameron told his followers Walker died in the accident at 6:42 a.m.

Furthermore, the rapper’s manager Johnny Cabell tells V103’s “The Ryan Cameron Morning Show With Wanda Smith” that accident occurred at 2:20 a.m.

Someone tweeting from the rapper’s Twitter account also confirmed the sobering news nearly an hour after Cameron.

Fans, supporters and fellow rappers used the #RIPShawtyLo to pay their final respects.

Update: Initial reports said Walker was involved in a fatal hit -and- Run this morning.
However, WSB-TV reports that there was no hit-and-run. Police state Walker died in a single car accident after crashing into the guardrail.
