Raw Video Captures Shootout, Chaos Outside Gay Orlando Nightclub Massacre That Left At Least 50 People Dead, 53 Injured

A less than 40 second video captured by a bystander shows moments outside a gay Orlando Nightclub where a deadly shooting took place. A gunman stormed a nightclub around 2 a.m. in the morning leaving approximately 50 dead and several others injured. The Pulse Nightclub was under attack by 29-year-old Omar Mateen. Officials have not confirmed the motive in the gruesome attack but believe it may be a terrorist attack. The incident is now being called the worst mass shooting in the history of the United States.

The gunman’s father Mir Mateen told NBC News, “We are saying we are apologizing for the whole incident. We weren’t aware of any action he is taking. We are in shock like the whole country.”

According to NPR, Orlando Police Chief John Mina described the incident below:

“At approximately 0202 hours this morning, we had an officer working at Pulse nightclub, who responded to shots fired. Our officer engaged in a gun battle with that suspect. That suspect at some point went back inside the club, where more shots were fired. This did turn into a hostage situation. Obviously multiple officers from various agencies responded, SWAT team responded. At approximately 0500 hours this morning, the decision was made to rescue hostages that were in there.”
