Man Who Gave Up His Home to Help Others Graduates from Miles College: ‘Homeless Does Not Mean Unproductive’

Titus Battles went from being a homeless man who lived in a one-room shed to a graduate of Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. Battle earned a degree in childhood development from the institution.

“I’m just saying that homeless doesn’t mean unproductive,” he told WVTM.

According to the news station, Battle began his day with a five-mile walk to class each day. He lived on campus during his final semester at the school, but he may have to move back into his make-shift home now that he’s no longer a student.
