Nearly a month after telling fans she is postponing her world tour again to “plan our family,” Janet Jackson is expecting her first child with her husband.
Sources close to the “Unbreakable” record maker confirm to ET Online that Jackson is pregnant. It will be the first child for her and her spouse, 41-year-old Wissam Al Mana.
49-year-old Jackson – who turns 50 on May 16 – posted a video message on Twitter telling fans that there “has been a sudden change.” She wanted her supporters to “be the first to know my husband and I are planning our family.” Jackson delayed the tour under doctor’s orders for her rest.
Fans at the time were outraged over not being able to get refunds since the tour was not canceled. But later, Jackson followed up her announcement with a tweet to an Us Weekly article saying concert tickets will be honored in 2017 and that refunds were available.
News of Jackson’s impending bundle of joy comes nearly one week after Jackson tweeted a message about missing her fans.
Hey you guys, I love and miss you!

It was followed up with another cryptic tweet that read, “Coming Soon… ”

A gif attached shows two girls – one white and one black – gesturing towards the screen. CNN reports they are Taylor Hatala and Kyndall Harris, preteen dancers who have toured with Jackson.
The next day, on April 30, Jackson gifted fans with a lyric video for her song “Dammn Baby.” Besides one retweet for a song by R&B singer Erin Stevenson, the “No Sleep” singer has only tweeted gifs from an upcoming music video for “Baby.”
There has not been any tweets from Jacksom herself regarding the pregnancy news.
The singer secretly married Al Mana in a quiet ceremony in 2012. An anonymous family member claimed the singer and businessman were looking to adopt from Syria.
In 2009, Jackson told Harper’s Bazaar about her wishes to have children.
“I think that if I’m really supposed to have kids, it will happen, if that’s God’s plan for me,” she said.
