NBC News released new audio this week about the emergency landing that may have led to the death of legendary pop star Prince.
In the clip, Prince’s pilot tells two air controllers that the singer and pop star is unresponsive. At the time, the pilot did not know the singer was suffering from a possible overdose on the painkiller Percocet.
The entertainer’s jet was en route to Minneapolis after concerts in Atlanta. The two air controllers tell the pilot to make an emergency landing at the Quad Cities International Airport in Moline, Illinois.
The jet landed on April 15, less than a week before the singer’s death. Prince was found dead at his Paisley Park estate on Thursday, April 21.
