Former Oklahoma City police officer Daniel Holtzclaw was sentenced 263 years for raping 13 women while on the OKC police force. Atlanta Blackstar reported in December that a jury found Daniel Holtzclaw, 29, guilty on five counts of rape, as well as 13 counts of sexual assault against eight of the 13 women who accused him.
Many of his victims were poor and Black. He specifically targeted women who had issues with drugs and prostitution because Holtzclaw knew no one would believe their allegations. Today, Twitter users watched on hoping the brave women who came forward to get justice will trigger more investigations into the corruption of other police departments around the country.
