On September 3, a judge reduced Holtzclaw’s bond from $5 million to $500,000. Six days later, Holtzclaw left jail after paying a $500,000 bond. However, in mid-September, he violated the conditions of his bail by not notifying the bond release program case manager before going to a doctors appointment. Oklahoma County District Judge Timothy Henderson gave Holtzclaw a 14-day sentence as a sanction for violating conditions of his release and increased his bond to $609,000.

Holtzclaw violated the conditions of his bond a second time in July. According to court documents, Holtzclaw allowed his GPS bracelet battery to go dead for about six and a half hours, from just after midnight to 7 a.m. An Oklahoma judge sentenced him to 15 days in jail, where he has remained since the violation.
