David L. Steward

Successful entrepreneur David L. Steward started his company, World Wide Technology in 1990.

Currently, the company provides the federal government with tech services and has been featured in many national business publications, including Fortune and Black Enterprise. Currently WWT has up to $7 billion in revenue and employs more than 3,000 people in 48 states and six countries.

Based in St. Louis, WWT works closely with industry leaders including Boeing, Dell, Cisco, AT&T Inc., Microsoft and the U.S. Air Force.

In an interview with The New Pittsburgh Courier, Steward discusses his faith and his ups and downs in paving a successful life for himself. He reveals that his faith in God is instrumental in his business practices.

“Our brand is the trust level we bring to the marketplace, so we must represent excellence and put a stake in the ground as to whom you will be and what you will stand for; then take a stand on your values and stay true to them,” he told The New Pittsburgh Courier.

Faith is so vital to the CEO that in 2004 he wrote the book, Doing Business By The Good Book: 52 Lessons on Success Straight From The Bible. The book is aimed at inspiring people to look toward Christianity as a guide for economic success in business.

“Count it all joy, even the challenges,” he said. “It is through the challenges that we grow. Seek to serve and give your very best to others, and good things will come your way.”
