On Friday, a 49-year-old police trainee killed a 19-year-old college student who they claimed broke into a car dealership.
Christian Taylor, a football player at Angelo State University, was unarmed officials said.
Arlington Police were notified of a possible burglary attempt at the GMC Classic Buick dealership. Taylor was reportedly in the showroom when officers approached him and an “altercation” ensued. During the alleged struggle, Taylor was shot and killed.
Social media quickly disputed the reports and #ChristianTaylor soon became another trending hashtag brining awareness to police violence against unarmed Black men and women.
