10 Things Creflo Dollar Could Do with the $65 Million Instead of Buy a Jet

With the news that televangelist Creflo Dollar of World Changers International Church, just outside of Atlanta, has asked 200,000 people to donate $300 each so he can purchase a lavish $65 million private jet, we came up with alternative uses for the cash that could improve the lives of Black people in profound ways.

Help HBCUs

With declining enrollments, cuts in financial aid and a change by the Obama administration in how many semesters students can access Pell Grants, Creflo’s dollars could go far in helping a few HBCUs continue to provide targeted attention to the needs of Black students.

A pool of money that could be accessed by bright Black tech entrepreneurs with an abundance of ideas but limited capital would have the multiplier effect of ultimately providing an abundance of jobs in the Black community.

  1. I said some of the same things when I read about him and 7 ohter mega rich preachers, that should be the plan. I grew up right next door to our church and although it was small if a member needed help they got it with food rent money or what ever I don't see that to much any more sad.

Tithe were given to church and every thing left over was returned to the people. it only provide the priest food on the table and clothes on their back. People who don't read for themselves are to be blamed for the foolishness. My people perish because of lack of knowledge.

  6. imagine if all those church tites were put in a intrest bearing account and invested, imagine the jobs we could create with that money but instead these people giving to black thieves living in mansions who learned the con game of white savior from the whiteman, the black preacher thought if these so called superior whites fall for this scam, why these silly negroes will too, and how right they where.

  7. SMH! My bible study group is praying for 200,000 people to help 300 people launch a new church experience that will actually serve the communities in metro Atlanta. No emphasizes on money, but will empower people to empower other people to live positively.
Many of our mega-church leaders have failed Atlanta. We're seeing a mass exodus from the mega-church, because people are no longer mesmerized with it.

  9. Blacks need teachers, not preachers…

  10. mega-church leaders? every Christian pastors' dreams is to make it big, thosethat already atop wishes to be even further up and those below are working tirelessly to reach the top, all at the expenses of the poor.

  11. Christ had the world in his hands? Was he a bodybuilder /heavy weightlifting champ? Where did you get your info?

  12. they're not mesmerized by it because they love being lied to. When you're a sheep and loving it, you will always be a sheep to another no matter what new approach you've tried. so mega church , little church are the same. I likened that to big business to small business , all about the paper god, MONEY!

  13. True he has a strong stable of ho's that he can pimp in the deep South Atlanta is the perfect place for his message. That's why they call it the Bible belt buttermilk bottom.Sad to say that Uncle Tom and Beulah will donate for days unless they happen to see straight before its too late.Buy , FANTA and FIDDLER WOULD ROLL OVER IN THEIR GRAVE, LOL.

  17. Set up free, Teaching blacks how to open a business, and how to secure loans to open a business, and offer small loans to help blacks get started in business.

  18. I don't see a problem with him asking for donations for a new jet. For those who aren't interested in giving donations, DON'T GIVE ANY MONEY. HE IS A MAN OF GOD! HE HAS GIVEN MILLIONS OF HIS OWN MONEY AWAY TO HELP OTHERS AND ADVANCED THE KINGDOM. THERE IS MORE TO BE DONE TO GET THE WORD TO THE LOST AND DYING. The uproar over his quest feeds into the ridiculous idea of the unrighteousness of a Black minister prospering when no one is making a big deal about Joel Osteen's jet or Kenneth Copeland's jet. They are all men of God and I respect them but give Creflo Dollar, the same allowances. How could I forget THE POPE. He has a multi-million dollar private jet, home, cars, etc. THE POPE SURELY DIDN'T BUY IT HIMSELF! It was the money of parishioners and donations to the Catholic church. Creflo Dollar is not doing anything wrong in my opinion.

I am quite disappointed and surprised at this hateful distorted propaganda posted on “Atlanta Black Star” and in other papers that should support the leaders in our communities that give and do so much as Creflo Dollar and World Changes Ministry. Personally, I don’t know him, but as a Journalist you should have told the unbiased truth. You should have done your homework. I did and was shocked to find that his work is amazing. This is not a MEGA preacher; this is a MEGA worker for the world, the Kingdom of God and people hurting around the world.

Which one of you can put a price tag on the value of the Word of God for the lost souls around the world, and the life and well being of his Ministers of the Gospel? What is too good and too much for a Men and women of God? Should only those who sell fifth to our youth in their music ride in a quality and safe planes? Are you kidding me? Or is it just for the devils with the drugs and guns that somehow mysteriously land in black communities? How many do you feed for Christmas and Thanksgiving? How many places where commercial airlines don’t go do you go to help people?
If I had $65 million I would gladly give it to him as long as he is using it in the service of the ministry of the Gospel, and I believe he is. I have heard of nothing but good works coming from his ministry. So, he asked for $300 from 200,000 people who are financially able to give it. I will donate $300 for it. How much do we spend on concert tickets and football games men? The average ticket for one game is $200 now add the bear you buy, gas and parking. How much will you spend on a pair of shoes ladies? Most who had it would not hesitate to spend $300 on 1 pair of shoes that they may wear one time. I have been out to one dinner and spent $300 so… What's the big deal? Why can't we dream past a few million? He had the faith to ask. Unfortunately faith in the wrong people is worse than a curse. How can you write such an article? The bible says without faith it is impossible to please God. We need to raise the way we think and perceive.
Like you, the devils like to refer to them as Mega preachers, but they never mention all the work they do. Go and stand outside his church almost daily and see the massive number of people they help. If you don’t know, ask somebody. I have driven past and have seen hundreds of people standing in line to get help. How many have each of us helped? The problem is his ministry helps the hopeless and helpless – think, how many have most of us helped? I will not by a new pair of shoes for Easter and I will contribute $300 for that plane. God Bless the family as they continue to spread the Word and help people. So your homework before you spread propaganda. Be a responsible journalist and be respectful to the servant, minister of the Most High God. I have also added this comment to another similar post. I am appalled.

  21. I hear that but when Creflo look in the mirror all he see is his self he is a wolf in sheep clothing the false profit that is written is he 65 million what he need to get his feet back on the ground and his head into reality is a foot in his a&$

  22. Diane Sealey says:

And you believe we the people should give him a $65, million dollar jet and you have folks who still can't get their bus fares together.

  23. Reverend Ike. Remember him? He had a calling (so he said) to go to an island to teach the word of god to the islands natives. His congregation came up with the money and he went and he spread the word of god to the poor natives. Hawaii is a beautiful place.

  24. There are white Mega churches to.

  25. Hassan Abdullah Why must you call them "ho's."(Whores).

  26. Diane Sealey I would have gladly given, but he never asked his members, that is the first lie that has been spreading. He asked his partners. And one of his partners gave him a check for $65,000.00 This man does great work for his community, why do we continue to feed into propagandist who create false stories to destroy great people who are doing great things. Why when wonderful leaders emerge we through them all in the box with the scum bags instead of seeking out the truth. Why do we believe every thing that we read. Can we not think and reason for ourselves. Do your own research in this matter and if you find in your own research, not these sensationalist story tellers, but real facts the be critical. The bible says we must not bear false witness against our neighbor, then why are we allowing people to spread false information and hatred against someone who only does good and teaches people how to lift themselves up. Is there none good among us? I believe there are and I believe Creflo Dollar is an honorable man of God. If he needs a Billion dollar plan to do good work for people around the world then Yes, he should get it. Because he cannot ride a bicycle, or drive around the world.

Stealing their wages, stealing their souls and telling them how they want them to vote. All in the name of Jesus. ~ Anti-Christians ~ The scriptures flow as sweet as honey from their lips, seducing and robbing in the name of God. These are the ones Jesus spoke of that would come in the End Times and deceive many in His name. Anti-Christians: You will know them by their bigotry, their hatred, and their contempt for “others”.

    The Christian Dilemma:

The greatest threat to America, and indeed to the rest of world, at this point in history, comes from the staunch advocates of right wing ideology, and I must submit this warning to you: There is a grave problem with the right wing movement, in that; they seem to possess a distorted sense of entitlement. They’ve set themselves apart, and seem to think that their faith gives them the right to view the world from a platitude of conceit, through condescending eyes, and with a false sense of superiority. They actually believe themselves to be superior beings, with a manifest destiny and some strange notion that God is on their side. A people with a desire to conquer, under the false guise of Christianity, seeking to dominate in the name of Christ, their view of humanity being reduced to nothing more than a matter of “us” and “them”.

What they fail to realize is; if the Christ you believe in leads you to view other humans as lesser beings, then you are a follower of the anti-Christ. The plain truth is; God doesn’t have a religion and God doesn’t discriminate. Any religion that professes to be the only true religion, or that they‘re special in the eyes of God preaches false doctrine. If the Spirit of God is truly with you, it will only be known by acts of “unconditional” love and charity. No religion can claim exclusive rights to God. He belongs to all that He has created, and to foster a belief in “us” and“them” is to divide humanity, not unite it.

And so it will be, in The End, that those who have set themselves apart from their fellow man will find that they have set themselves apart from God. The worth of a soul will only be measured by how much it has loved, nothing more, nothing less. Woe to those who have taken the widow’s mite and built castles and empires in His name. They have incurred a great accountability, their suffering will be unending.

Even Jesus will not claim to be Christian, but will only proclaim the glory of the Father. And when He returns they will shout: "Here we are Lord!" And He will respond: "I never knew you". They have forsaken the Word and have become prisoners of the Numbers.

Those who have put themselves first will be last.

  31. Gary Markle I don't believe the issue of this article is about entitlement, it is about propaganda and bearing false witness. I respectfully disagree with you Gary, on the greatest threat to America. I believe it is the silence on the atrocities of racism, and greed. It is absurd to see men and women and children sleeping under bridges while this so called "entitlement" theory is used to perpetrate more hatred and racism. The common thread is that African Americans are looking for hand out's and don't work. That is pure nonsense. Furthermore, I have heard the term used to describe unemployment and social security. People work years to be able to have that benefit at the end of their life, or if they lose their jobs. In every race there are hard working people, and lazy people. Sometimes, people just give up because it seems hopeless. When we speak of what is false doctrines, we must also consider that it is wrong to bear false witness against another because that is not the spirit of Christ. Gary, I have researched and spoke with people, many people about Creflo Dollar and I find no gile in him. This man teaches people how to lift themselves up. He helps people who cannot help themselves. Jesus did not claim to be a Christian because He was the Word, he was the Beginning, he was the great " I AM" Creflo Dollar has that kind of faith, and is doing that kind of work – let's bless him, support him and duplicate him.

Thank you for your response, Gary, much of what you say is true, but not all. I think to be believable, and to create a culture of healing we must all learn to stay away from the "right wing and Left wing" terminology that is so full of propaganda that it cannot be trusted.

    Peace

Me Anita that fine and dandy however, money being taken out of the community doesn't help the community people give every day but they are not put the resources Where it should go it that were so those donations would serve better staying in the community. If they can pull those kinds of resources out of. Community that why can they invest back into the community?.

  33. @Anita Brokaw – we all have our opinions but I beg to differ and the Word of God supports my stance. Jesus and His disciplines and apostles took from the poor. In order to receive you must give and vice versa. Whether it's giving your heart or your tithes. Jesus took a boy's lunch of two fish and five loaves and return so much to him, he required assistance. A prophet took the last flour and oil from a starving dying woman and her son in the middle of a famine, so he could eat and her flour bin and oil container were never barren again. No matter what your financial position you are in a position to give and to be a blessing.
