  1. If you look at true history, we don't have a lot to be thankful of being American! Kidnapped, chained stripped of our language , origin , religion reminded everyday that we arren't Americans but?-americans! We're just trying to make the best of a not so good situation!

  2. I understand how you feel, but america has a lot to be proud of.; remember, the civil rights movement was successful up until jfk and dr king were assassinated. after that, everything in america changed, culminating with the events of 9/11/2001. it took them part way thru the 90s to REVERSE all of the progress america made in the 60s. regulation helped to improve the lives of Black america. they DEREGULATED AND PRIVATIZED AMERICA, and unleashed the bankers and wall street to exploit the american people and to essentially, destroy this country and the progress made.

That's a great man there.(Paul Robeson) You had to be fearless and ready to die to speak like that during those times.

  4. As an 81 year old Englishman who had the great privilege and pleasure of meeting, shaking hands and speaking with Paul in London, April 1949 a the end of a concert when I was 15 1/2, having grown up with him from birth, my father singing me to sleep with Paul's songs ( being brought up by enlightened working-class parents who were great admirers, and who saw him in Showboat and playing "Othello" on the London stage in 1930) I have always admired his great eloquence and moral strength, and for the past 4 months have been engaged on a mini crusade to bring awareness of Paul to the black population here, where my own survey amongst over-40s has shown that les than 5% have ever heard of Paul as opposed to around 50% of the white population. On the positive side , as soon as I give them an insight into Paul they are without exception keen to find out more from the internet, and I have received feedback that they are passing on the message to family and friends.

  5. I recall from memory the words of Abraham Lincoln, nearly 150 years ago " Fourscore and seven years ago our forefathers brought forth on this great continent a new Nation, conceived in liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, Now we are engaged in a great civil war testing whether this nation, or any nation so conceived, can long endure." Sadly, recent events as far as America is concerned have thrown is into doubt.
