According to The Independent, nine British banks, including two that were bailed out, invested hundreds of millions of dollars into companies that manufacture cluster bombs. Cluster bombs are a conventional munition that is designed to disperse or release explosive submunitions, each weighing less than 20 kilograms, and includes those explosive submunitions as defined by the Convention on Cluster Munitions. The Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB, Barclays and HSBC have all provided funding to the makers of cluster bombs, according to The Independent.
