  13. Evangelist Marvin Little says:

Her smile wasn't real. She was very hurt but trying not to show it.
Nas had a better response who said he had more money in his pocket than what the slaver paid for his ancestors. He even said he may go buy the land where the plantation was and do something positive with it.

  15. Lois Henry says:

Evangelist Marvin Little So true, it was a fake smile, I be glad when we scream and let some of the anger release. We are walking pressure cookers.

  16. Adjusted to inflation her grandmother was worth about $12,500 in today's money

  17. Kobie Dixon says:

I suspect all of this is bs.

  18. Nikki McClain says:

This just shows that no matter what I black woman does she's wrong. If she didn't smile she would be an angry black woman. So she smiles and they take it as she happy to find out she's part white. I think it was a nervous smile.

  19. That look on her face was just a mask trying to hide the hurt and shame she was feeling. You could actually hear it in her voice.

  20. That look on her face was just a mask trying to hide the hurt and shame she was feeling. You could actually hear it in her voice.

  21. Ann Eds says:

It wouldn't have mattered the countenance of her face. You all hate her and that's what drives your response. Of course, she's not going to show her true feelings to the world. She understands that she's going to be judged on her level of pain and why give the bigots a club to beat her with knowing not only that she is a proven descendant of slaves, but that she was worth so little by today's dollar. Cut her some slack. You can hate her and feel compassion.

  22. Well, it wasn't today's money.

  23. She doesn't seem "happy" about having white in her. I think she was just shocked that it was 40%. Her words after she found out shows how she feels about it. She said that this shine light on some of the horrible things happened during slavery that many Americans do not want to talk about. The rape women had to endure. Her being here today is a gratitude to her female ancestors for being able to endure that level of pain.

  24. yes it was all the stealing raping abusing, and enslaving of our and yours too condolesa all of our 'ancestors' and the euro culprits walk around unapologetic until this day! as a matter of FACT, its boasted, and glorified as "White Supremacy" so what does that tell you? that we Afria should network and support each other, wake up and UNIFY!

  25. Revon Nw says:

Is anyone familiar with the name of the interviewer? I've seen another video with him in it providing background information for another individual…. I would enjoy seeing the whole segment…..

  26. #TortureReport Cunt should be behind bars right along with Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld.

  27. Tasneem El-Siraaj No, it was undoubtedly a different form of currency, but what William meant was that the $450 back then was worth $12,500 now.

  28. Tomeka Davis says:

Henry Louis Gates, Jr. He owns The Root as well and Harvard Professor. Look him up. Police arrested him for supposeldy "breaking into his own home".

  29. Nikki McClain I think that her smile was one of pain.

  30. Condi has the type of personality of someone who only smiles when there is a problem. You say, oh my gosh there was an car accident, and her face will light up. She can't help it. This type of person makes a good saboteur, compliance officer, interrogator, or psychotherapist.

  31. Martin Hasan Di Maggio says:

thats not true, many white people were also slaves including gypsies who have dissappeared in the caribbean as a distinct group.

  32. Pam A Jack says:

Martin Hasan Di Maggio not in america ;the dutch paid the white people .every time black conplain about America slavery ,the white people throw themself into the mix. white people wrote on the record that they were the owner of the black slaves ,,,plus I don't see any white people working out in the cotton fields as slaves …stop play semantics

  33. $450, that's her grandmother. I'm named for my great-grandfather who was born into slavery, I think people forget it wasn't that long ago. And I love these genetic/ancestral tests available to show us where we come from rather than what we tell ourselves.

  34. Why get upset and full of hate and vengance over something she can do nothing about. She has made something out of her life in a very difficult world. Glad she is moving forward in her life and her thinking. Do something worthwhile instead of cry about a past you cannot change.

  38. Lance G. Jones says:

She smiles as we have had to smile for decades. She is smiling through the pain. Imagine having to smile at the man or men that raped you or your wife, your daughters, your sisters or your mother. Anything else would bring even worst punishment.

  39. How many afrikans did she killed with bush ?
Go and research this coons folks and there political garbage !!

  40. Too much hatred here.Anger st history is one thing but is sick for anyone. She talked about the pain of her enslaved ancestors and her smile did belie her pain. Aren't we all pained by slavery which, as she said, has been the deep scare on American history. As President Obama said, there is injustice today but not like a generation ago. Martin Luther King was about change, overcoming hatred, and revonciliation.

  41. Marc Francois says:

I did not think that the bitch cared about black people. This is the same chick that said she did not participate in the civil rights movement. She had other things to do.

  49. So what almost every black is part white is that something to be so proud of that's to no fault of ours we didn't asked to be draped by the massahs.I noticed they wouldn't allow me to write draped they kept putting that d in front of it but u all know what I meant. Lol

  53. Ted Offord says:

I would like to Ancestry.com reveal how much of the race mixing was caused by slave owners breeding Irish slaves with African slaves. I believe that's where the European DNA in many black people originated.

  71. Lee Beckford says:

Nikki McClain You're missing the point entirely. This is not about black women. Rice has a lot to answer for and I pray she pays for it all.

  72. And for whatever she was worth anyone that would make such a statement is worth even less

  73. Mé Todé says:

don't try to think too hard by writing such stupid comments, close your laptop and take some books to learn your history. If yoy knew it you'd be so ashamed of your country you woulnd't dare writing anything on this page. Goodbye.

  74. MLK also talked about integrating us into a burning building. But the only thing that your people can say about him MLK is his famous I have a dream speech that we are all Kumbiyah no that wound is still open it must be address, Your people have got to face the problem and admit that it's because of you all.

  75. Terry Keith says:

Pauletta Melanin Cuttino Lawrence Kreh is most likel no a descendant of a slave owner, but their hatred for us is what kept that machine well oiled. Now many of them realized that they were just pawns themselves while they helped the rich man get rich and not a dime of that money did they ever get for helping. I would say that Lawrence Kreh's ancetors were collaborators in their own slavery.

  76. Terry Keith says:

She is very well educated, but classy I'd have to pass on that. No woman with class does what she did in the Bush administration.

  77. Terry Keith says:

9/11 happened in the past too yet you all are still hating and blaming people who had nothing to do with it. You need to accept your own advice!

  78. Terry Keith says:

And that is still crumbs! How much are you worth? Go sit down!

  79. A well educated, accomplished and well respected woman of good standing in many areas. I find it interesting that, those of us who are none of these, find fault with success.
