  1. Etheleen Lawrence says:

Why do the majority of white people hate black people? What did black people do to white people, to be hated so…..much?

  2. Well, I wouldn't say it's the majority, but probably being able to demonstrate such innate ability to do things after assuming that things would be more equal…but everything from our inventions, our athletic prowess, or even our physical endowments. Jealousy is a terrible thing…but Rock is right.

  3. Etheleen Lawrence says:

You're so correct Steven T. Austin. And also, the fact that they had no history of their own and stole black peoples history, also that the black ancient people educated them. Yea, jealousy, the green eyed monster. Makes sense to me.

  4. Steven T Austin I get the part about endowments and athletic ability.. but "inventions"?? Whereas I am not implying there have been none- or even close to none- but, please. Let us not push it too far, okay?

  5. Steven T Austin I get the part about endowments and athletic ability.. but "inventions"?? Whereas I am not implying there have been none- or even close to none- but, please. Let us not push it too far, okay?

  6. Ethleen, You are ridiculous. Almost half of whites voted for Obama. Give me a break!!

  7. Etheleen Lawrence says:

Bruce Stewart: Whites voting for Obama makes you feel good or something. What!! Does it say to you….see, white folks aren't that bad. Please….next.

  8. Jay Michaels says:

    Dumbest thread EVER.

  9. Etheleen Lawrence I don't know what you want or expect. The world is not a perfect place but giant strides have been made in the last 50 years. In my opinion, you will NEVER be happy. You know, AAs DO have SOME responsibility to make their OWN lives better too. You can't act like children and blame "daddy" for all of your woes.

  10. Most white people don't "hate" Black people and you're belief to the contrary says more about your own racism.

  11. Alino Kenah says:

Bcos once you go black you are black for ever. many more!

  12. Tomesa Hélène Bailey says:

Bruce Stewart please. MANY, if not more than HALF of the things so far invented in america have been invented by black people. the traffic light, the helmet, the bicycle, the cotton gin, the straightening comb, folding beds, the almanac, the rotary engine, sparkplugs, paper punch, fire safe, lawn mower, the first airplane to actually be able to FLY a LONG distance, heating units, the air conitioner, the ventilator, the refrigerated truck, the gas mask, small boat propeller, railroad lubrication machine, the super soaker water gun, the x ray machine, harpoon (whaling gun), pacemaker, the carbon filament, electronic video games, the telegraph, the cataract probe (yes, the thingy that removes cataracts by laser), 3D graphics (did you enjoy the movie AVATAR? well thank a black person!), synthesis for creating medications, UV camera, the modern blood bank, the microphone, the elevator, the shoe lasting machine (so people could forego making shoes by hand), the mobile electrocardiogram, the dry bath and let's not forget the 200+ inventions from GW Carver and his peanut plants. do we really need to go on, and on, and on, and ON?
black men and women in this country are a prime reason people like YOU enjoy your cushy lives today.

  13. Sistagurl hang it up, you can't just plain make stuff up to suit your hatred of white people. Give it rest already.

  14. Etheleen Lawrence says:

Carl Mitchell: You're ignorant and don't know black history. Everything invention that Tomesa Bailey named are inventions of black peoples, and there are more. However, because of racism/white supremacy I, you and your children will never learn this from the white written history books. And by the way blacks can't be racist. And stop believing the propaganda of the white man.

  15. Tomesa Hélène Bailey You must have missed history class. I'll give you the hair straitening comb, traffic light and peanut butter. Maybe a few others are correct, I am not sure but Eli Whitney invented the cotton gin and almost every school age child knows it. The airplane- REALLY?!I would like to hear you spew this nonsense in a history class and watch the other students laugh at you. It's not all your fault. Blacks were isolated down there is sub-sahara Africa and thus did not come into contact with most of the trade routes that brought knowledge and goods through the fertile crescent and the mid-east. Same deal with the Native Americans. But, let us not tell LIES, okay?

  16. Etheleen Lawrence says:

Bruce Stewart: You need to do some research on black inventions. Eli Whitney didn't invent the cotton gin a black man invented the cotton gin. If you know anything , you should know that blacks slaves were not allowed to patent their inventions. So, guess who did??? Of course the white slave owner. Even logic would tell you that a white slave owner wouldn't waste his time inventing something to easy the burden of his slaves. I will find the name of the slave and post it, however, it wasn't Eli Whitney. You have brought into the lies and propaganda of your ancestors, the racist white supremacist.

  17. Ethlene, you make me smile. I was speaking to a Mexican immigrant. He told me that in Mexico they teach that Mexicans invented everything. According to the teachers there, the gringos stole all of the Mexican inventions and left Mexico in poverty. So I guess you'll have to fight it out with the Mecicans as to which race invented everything. Have a nice day, Ethlene, and never lose that great sense of humor.

  18. Etheleen Lawrence says:

Bruce, one thing we all know for sure, is that the white man stole everything he set his eyes upon….even if he had to lie and kill to get it. It must be that Neanderthal DNA, that's only found in white folks that makes them so barbarian and savage. Whatever it is it has destroyed humanity and the planet.

  19. Etheleen Lawrence Well, I have come to the conclusion that no race is morally superior to another. You know, Africans were doing immoral deeds in Africa long before the white man got involved. Selfishness and greed are not race specific. The white man was more successful due to technology but we are all guilty of the same sins. But if it's so bad here and you think you would like to live in an African village far, far from the "evil "white man, I hear that there are boats and planes leaving every day.

  20. Etheleen Lawrence What's wrong with Neanderthal DNA? They buried their dead, you know. Not very good looking by today's standards but looks are only skin deep.

  21. Royce Cheong says:

it was black people who drove them out of africa and in to europe the ice country for at less 3000 years and when the african egyptian taugh the greek their civilization and when the african moor invaded europe and gave them education in spain and I guess they have never forgave african for sending them to live in europe.

  22. ~First I want to say that one of the things I admire about Chis Rock is he never lost his love for his fellow man — regardless of color. He's intelligent. ~ Judging from the comments on Atlanta Black Star, it's safe to say that American black children will struggle another 100 years with all the manufactured baggage of selectively chosen black history grievances. ~Every nationality that came to America had withering challenges to overcome. ~Blacks have turned that experience into a permanent narrative. As such it will be it's own punishment. ~It's 2015 people. ~Wake up and smell the stupidity. I'm a 63 year old white, Italian proud, Grandfather of a black Granddaughter. ~I'm more concerned for her now than when she was born to black and white parents, 14 years ago. Not because of white on black hate… But rather black on white racism! ~Reject ALL of the black racists. From the billionaire's and political leaders to the guy on the street. ~Man up. See your own racism and overrule it. And tell the truth. Even black people cross the street and 'profile' when they see a gang of blacks coming. Why? Because they know they're likely to get jacked. ~Spend less time throwing rocks and raise your kids with love and attention. Even those who are not your own. ~I fostered dozens of black kids before I even fathered my own four. ~White privilege? Give me a break. What's that? I'm privileged to bust my butt and pay for your daughters to have more kids with no daddy? Take that rap elsewhere because I'm not hearing it. ~And stop electing race baiters just because of the color of their skin. Don't be a sucker.

  23. The language of racism is changing. We are moving on from the problems associated with the explicit racial hatred of the last century (the radical racism following the abolition of slavery). We are in the midst of a very volatile point in the evolution of multiracial societies. Here, we find a lot of racial tension coming from the subconscious and even unconscious aspects of social interaction.

I think it will be more difficult to confront certain aspects of racism, because they have become a part of the underlying, implicit nature of culture. Addressing racism is basically asking an already anxious set of people to do a lot of introspection, and try to modify their perception of themselves with respect to other ethnic groups. Most of the changes that need to be made need to start taking place on an institutional level. From education, to religion, from commercial institutions to the institution of family, new forms of addressing ourselves and others need to take hold.

  24. Anythings better than being a simian, ANYTHING! Chris Who? That mud bug doesn't have the sense that Allah said he gave him. Up yours to Allah.

  25. Bruce Stewart I'd like to take a minute to give thanks for the great contributions the Black community have made to our society. First off is their peaceful and generous nature that make them ideal neighbors, lending testimony to their exceptional family values and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture we know. I might add also their commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. And lest we forget about the real estate values that are fueled by the mix of African Americans into an area due to their caring, kind and respectful nature of these communities, an example of all they have achieved through their enthusiasm for self improvement by hard work and a self-reliant can-do nature. Without their industrious and creative drive, we would be much poorer as a nation.

  26. Majority, don't know about that, but it is hereditary. Their ancestors really believed black people were beneath them. The legacy of that mind set lives in their descendants. Many still believe that today. And to have a good portion of black people do very well and be prominent or at least rise to their equal is upsetting to some. It goes against logic as black people have a legacy of distrust and/or hatred for white people, which is somewhat validated by the history. Their families have endured and may still endure racism related injustices in some instances. Everyone agrees racism is alive a well, but is offended when someone brings it up. And to mention race doesn't make you a racist.

  27. whites are more racist? are u kidding me!

  28. Bruce Stewart: Are you really saying , that because the Neanderthal beast, which are white people ancestors…..knew how to bury their dead, that made them intelligent or something. Really….a dog knows how to bury a bone. Your point exactly???.

  29. Bo Johnson says:

Where does the pressure to "not forget 'your people' " come from? Who is it that says to black leaders "You represent 'us' "? Who all does that "us" include? Who decided that successful black people and leaders are REQUIRED to speak for and represent this ambiguous and (as yet) undefined "us"? Why does the "us/them" ideology continue to flourish, and why does the desire for UNITY not take precedence over such a divisive premise as the "us/them" premise? Why is the focus on the individual when it comes to "whites" but on the (again, as yet undefined) community as a whole for "blacks"? Or, another way to ask these questions: Why is there a different contextual standard (individual vs. group) for different races? Why has this difference in standard not been addressed, especially in light of the fact that said context makes the vast majority of comparisons moot? I think there are a great many commonly accepted premises that should be reexamined and tested against known logically fallacious errors. Perhaps we should even take the time to go all the way back to the beginning and test even our most basic beliefs to ensure they hold true to logic. We are currently in a situation where many people have forgotten the point, and can't see the forest for the trees. Indeed, can we all even agree on the point? These are not questions which people who TRULY want to quell racism to the point of insignificance should take lightly. I would argue that whosoever dismisses or underestimates the value and necessity of such logical due process does not want progress at all, but rather prioritizes the fight over the end goal.

  31. Sammy Habtu says:

you can't ever cure racism. Humans will do w/e you allow them. THe more balanced the power the less racism because they know they can't get away with it. When was the last time you saw a chinses man killed by cops….its because cops know that they have an international super power backing them. As long as africa is weak blacks will never get respect.

  32. Why do black americans have to set the pace for the rest of the black people around the world?

  33. Sammy Habtu The institution of race is a bigger lie than any other. There is nothing tangible when it comes to race… that is, race doesn't decide anything on a more objective level but is a result of our overall subjectivity. Race is an idea born out of an inner need to divide and conquer. Africa has to be seen as many nations currently engaged in a struggle with corruption. There is very little reason to unite and foster National Power in such a climate.

I don't believe blacks are treated differently from Chinese by the police because of international economics. It is simply a cultural thing. Blacks have struggled with the law ever since they were freed from slavery. Remember most blacks had nothing after slavery and most plantation owners wanted their free labour back. They worked with police to round up blacks and get them back on farms or doing prison labour.

  34. I wish it were that simple, but it is still the most realistic way of strengthening the commuinity. I think your comment places a lot of focus on the psychological and nurturing elements of the race issue. The race issue is quite complicated because we are dealing with something so personal, so emotional and so gut wrenching. All these things can allow a person to lose their ability to reason competently. We see aggression, we see fear, we see panic. This is because that is how a natural system reacts when it feels threatened. But the thing about human psychology is that perception of a threat and the actual existence of the threat can be way off.

Black people do not face hate from people like you, but they do from others who like you. So some black people will say you are the enemy and the whole white structure is the enemy. The truth is that there are aspects of the system which are our enemy, just as their aspects which work against the asians, the hispanics, the indians and the whites. However black history shows that white people can't jus tell these people to man up. An entire people were uprooted and an identity flung upon them, they have learning to do and they need consistency from their teachers. Italian history is rich and you can proabably trace your geneology as far back as 500BC [just kidding, but you get my point, we lack an identity here]. Most blacks are just a mix of races and have to determine for themselves what is their way. That may seem easy at 63, but when your life is just beginning in 2015 it is extrememly hard because everyone is trying to have an influence on everybody else.

  35. Etheleen Lawrence Whites are probably tha tway because they have more history logged in tradiing across the Eurasaian continent. Whites have been a part of many great revolutions. The horse riding, traders who chose to learn from everyone else and to build a nation from the ideas and debris of their foes. I doubt Neanderthal DNA has much to do with white culture, but it could. One would have to know what genomes we find and how they affect other genes in order to say so definitely. Neanderthals were sturdy and short. They had bigger brains, but their intelligence seemed more directed towards survival. Neanderthal or not though, the issue remains that all races are capable of the immoral and unethical. The people who see us all as one are going to get further. They do not see the obstacle in the illusions, but the illusions in the obstacles. That is, they are not naive, but know that they must have a goal and if that goal is met with racism then so be it, if not then complete your goal. You're not here to be bothered by another man's/woman's behavior, ideas etc. We are here to complete our own goals, things we see as important and things we need other people, regardless of natiuon, to help us with. People will fight against us, but they are stuck in their own ignorance, the point is to keep winning at your goal.
