Ummm….the Atlantic Slave Trade, and slavery and the history of racism in the U.S. (and other places) is (are) atrocious. However that does not mean some of these things don't hold at least a little bit of merit. More perplexing is the fact that since I'm a snow man I'd be blamed for this much more than say someone from a Hispanic background. Even though, since I'm recently emigrated Irish and French Canadien it is less likely my 'people' and ancestors were involved in this than the Hispanic person. Judging people off of skin color is wrong, point blank, but historically yes, everyone, from the Arab slave trade, to the Roman times, to everywhere basically were taken as slaves. Doesn't make it any more right in America. If Curtis, or anyone for that matter wants to have a healthy discourse on racism, I'm more than open. It's still a very polarizing topic. prison is a multi billion dollar business run with over 2 million Americans that are forced to work for free everyday.. its not just license plates anymore!!! Not to mention 85% of the food they eat they grow… they produce milk and meat.. even answer the phones for D.M.V … they even make clothing, that are sold in retail stores… next time you look at a tag that says: made in America, who the hell you think making that bullshit? It's not that the world had it wrong, you have to remember, 50 yrs ago all people were starting to be recognized as having rights. Not just the more powerful that conquered. I was saying less than 1% being potentially innocent. Its unfortunate that some get railroaded. But you can't just say, well, since there is a small percentage of potentially innocent people here, let's let everyone walk free.
