He has not carried on Garvey's legacy, he has assumed the position of Figure Head of an religious, not revolutionary organization. The Nation has no National TV Broadcasts, no transportation lines, no radio stations, they have been living in an NOI cocoon.Black Women spend enough on hair products alone to fund most of these ventures. The Nation should move in places and with people and organizations that aren't all based on Islam. Chris Hargrave It's unfortunate, but as I know history I see how it occurred. Bridging the divide of those moved to other continents back to African societies from which their ancestors originated is difficult. dissimilar language, religion, and ways of life… yet so similar. I've heard those from each group.. African American and African speak of each other with distance and suspicion due to these differences (perceived, and amplified by U.S Media).. dustbowls in African rather than cities where most people live.. or only violence in American black neighborhoods without including those blacks that do just fine and contribute to society. If folks like Oprah, the Jay-Zs and such invested overseas I believe they would create new pools of followers and jobs from what they create to mimic achievements in the U.S. and make others wealthy. The solution is in my mind to start socializing and working together for the greater good.

I haven't purchased a Final Call in years. I used to listen to The Minister every Sunday, when he was played out of Dallas. I am not a Muslim or Christian, I'm a Pan African, that has not seen the church or NOI, manage to merge to make Africans take a leap forward. I can not understand how organizations that have been around so long have not come together and created Broadcasting world wide, and Colleges that focus Africans on being Africans in the Diaspora, not just Muslims and Christians, just Africans, making moves. Has the Minister asked for a Million Men to donate to buying Radio, and TV? I'm just asking, because the Million Man March should be duplicated to do these things, maybe the messages could be pumped into Chicago, and Darfur, and the Sudan, and start shaping attitudes and expectations. Farrakhan is spot on. I've been to Africa twice since 2012 and will likely return two more times — in the next 9 months — to collaborate on projects. My takeaway from those trips and trips to Europe and interacting with Africans? I'm black. That's what binds folks whose roots go back to Africa and skin color is dark. I have no problem with it. Where I once viewed it as us and them, it is now "we". This results in me being viewed as strange by plenty of black folks in America. For any ill that currently affect us in the society, it is a picture of the failure within the inner family unit. I love minister Farrakhan but he is worn about us not feeling the connection with Africans. We have never felt a connection with them on a whole. Most of us don't have one real African friend. This is something that should have been taught to us from birth.He is right about us getting away from wanting to be and sound black. Not sure if that was a good thing or not. I do not agree with you, tony. we show that we come together. when you see the people come together after an innocent Black man is murdered by the police, what do you think you are seeing? when my generation came together in the civil rights movement, what do you think that was? we are great when it comes to supporting one another in america. we are supportive of our brothers and sisters on the continent, too. oprah, serena, alisha, all have schools in africa. We should have protested what was happening in rwanda and in other parts of africa where neo-colonialism is trying to gain a hold but we are not thinking clearly. we are involuntarily sedated.
