He asks lots of questions but the truth is I wouldnt have said racism is so bad 8 years ago, naively. Especially since biracial couples/kids is nornal in my area; but things are going crazy. I did not say he was a good police officer, at the same time I do not want ot get caught up in all this police brutality thing either. I am in the military myself, I do not expect that you would treat me any differently in the media than you do the police, but at the same time we need to look at all the facts for instance: What is his side of the story? He may be, and probably is unfit for duty, but we do not know this for sure, I know that people will intentionally provoke others to get them to slip up, that is no excuse for spitting on her, but we all have a flash point. To be honest with you I think that whole Ferguson issue in Missouri was a bunch of bullshit, the facts that came out later backed up the police officers story of what happened, then you get the Al Sharptons and Jessee Jacksons calling for justice. Please do not get it twisted I do not like the idea that the young man lost his life, at the same time the officer had to do his duty and we need to realize that is what we are paying them to do, their duty. If we want to make this white cops vs black citizens Ok then the white cops by and large will take responsbility for what they do, what about the black citizens who get high and threaten the safety of the officers? Where is Jessee Jackson, or Al Sharpton when a white woman is killed or raped by a black man, nowhere that is where! Well, that is what it all boils down to… Brutality. The use of excessive force. Take race out of the issue of you wish, but we still need to deal with people in uniform dealing with everyday people, no matter if they are drug addicts or shoplifters, and the use of actual fair and proper treatment. It is hard for me to see these officers as officers of the law or as peace officers when they are murdering unarmed purple and inciting violence, insulting and throwing racial slurs. The incidents need to be deadly with individually and properly, and publicly.

I agree. The media only feeds us what they want us to see, but we still need to see beyond that. Why are people protesting? Why did someone get shot who was unarmed? Why is it so different for this incident with a black teen than what we've seen the same or words scenarios with white adults?
You say you are military, so I assume you've had a certain level of training when dealing with someone or a group who are armed or potentially armed. Do you know how to disarm an armed person? Do you know how to engage them in disarming conversation? Or are you trained to only kill when any that surfaces? Most importantly, do you know how to remove yourself/others from harm's way and call for help in an out-numbered/outmatched situation? Are you trained to make split second decisions that are not always shot to kill, especially when your target is unarmed? The media is not the problem here, it is the situation that is the problem.

Bev, I simply said take race out of the equation of you wish. I know that it is definitely an issue, but the bigger issue is that of overt aggressive outbursts of rage and violence. Do I expect a teenager to have the same attitude of self control as I do a grown adult, especially a trained adult, and even more especially, someone whose job it is to uphold the law and serve the public in the office of peacekeeper? No. I hold adults to a much higher level of reasonable actions than I do a teen, especially when unarmed, which is the case in too many of these incidents. I've personally been in enough life-threatening situations to respect the role of officers, but also enough situations as a black teen/man to know that there are some very real predators in those same uniforms. Every person's violent attitude pertaining to these issues is cause for alarm. That's the real problem: the perpetual cycle of violence.

Richard, I agree with you for the most part remember what he is accused of. We live in a society in 2014 where race is still a sensitve subject, and that is sad! That is what needs to be fixed. I believe the big reason for this is because some people stand to gain if they can make a mountain out of a mole hill ie Jessee Jackson, Al Sharpton, the media etc. I always try to remember, especially after all that happened in Ferguson, MO that there is more than one side to every story, and some people will lie as witnesses if they can somehow benefit their agenda; so I ask myself would a person regaurdless of race, religion, or gender make me this mad just because that person is going 10 mph slower on the road than the posted speed limit? I will not lie and act like it would not irritate me, especailly if I was in a hurry to get somewhere, but to spit on her and use racial sluirs no I could not see going that far. I could see if I was irritated enough that I may address her after she parked if I did not have to go out of my way, but I would do it and leave. What do you think?

There is a federal law which says once charged or convicted you can not carry or have a permit to cary a gun. So what is this garbage , how does he become above the law. This law includes cops, politicians, civilians, everyone. This country is really becoming hypocrites, with lawless officials.
The gun laws that stop people that have been convicted of domestic violence from owning a run make an acceptation for all law enforcement officers after the bill was passed they amended it since so many cops had domestic violence convictions
