Many Women With Breast Cancer Don’t Get Enough Exercise, Study Says

Even though physical activity is known to help breast cancer survivors, a new study finds many patients may not be getting enough exercise.

University of North Carolina researchers studied the activity levels of more than 1,700 women both before and after their breast cancer diagnosis.

About 60 percent decreased their daily exercise within six months of being diagnosed.

African-American women were less likely to meet physical activity guidelines after diagnosis, a group that generally has higher breast cancer mortality rates.
