Lil Wayne fans have been patiently awaiting his upcoming album for a while now, so they were quite delighted when Drake announced that “Tha Carter V” would be released on May 5. However Wayne’s manager, Cortez Bryant, said in an interview today that the album will likely be delayed. As reported by mtv.com:

“No matter what’s causing the delay or when it will end, Bryant stressed that it’ll be worth the wait. “Gonna be f—in’ amazing,” he said of the fifth and final installment in the Carter series. “It’s gonna be that good.”

“It might not just be the last Carter, though. When Tunechi spoke with MTV News last month, he stressed that this would be his last solo effort — with one caveat: ‘Twenty-five to 35 million [dollars] would get me to do another solo album after this,’ he said. “I personally plan on this being my final solo album, yes. And it’s definitely the final Carter album.” It doesn’t sound like that means he has plans on leaving rapping behind altogether, thankfully. He said he’d grab the mic, ‘whenever I have to pitch in for a Young Money album, a Like Father, Like Son album and something like that and maybe something out the blue.'”

There’s no new release date for “Tha Carter V,” so fans have to go back to playing the waiting game, and trust that it will be worth the wait.
