Comedian Jerry Seinfeld ‘Pissed’ Over Diversity Questions Concerning All-White Cast

In an interview on This Morning,  Jerry Seinfeld was confronted over the lack of diversity in his new webseries Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

“Take a look over here, Peter. What do you see? A lot of whiteys,” the comedian said jokingly to BuzzFeed editor Peter Lauria, pointing at the live audience. “Oh, this really pisses me off. But go ahead.”

Becoming upset about the topic at hand, Seinfeld answered the questioning, explaining that he “has no interest in race or gender” when it comes to comedy. “People think it’s the census or something, it’s gotta represent the actual pie chart of America. Who cares?” Seinfeld said.

Adding, ”Funny is the world that I live in. You’re funny, I’m interested. You’re not funny, I’m not interested,” he said. “I have no interest in gender or race or anything like that.”

It seems clear that Seinfeld isn’t trying to make race an issue within comedy. “I think that’s — to me it’s anticomedy. It’s more about PC-nonsense.” Seinfeld added.
