Two-time presidential candidate Rev. Jesse Jackson turned to Twitter on Monday to offer words of encouragement to former NBA player Dennis Rodman’s “diplomatic” trips to North Korea.
Jackson tweeted: “Congrads @dennisrodman on your diplomacy efforts in North Korea. It might be dark but you are a light!”
The reverend added shortly after: “@dennisrodman ping pong diplomacy worked in China, and Basketball seems to work in North Korea. #KeepHopeAlive”
According to townhall.com: “Rodman had previously stated that he loved Kim Jong Un, the North Korean dictator, calling him a ‘good guy’ and a ‘friend.’ Kim Jong Un made headlines recently for executing his uncle. Earlier this year, Kim Jong Un said that Switzerland was committing a human rights abuse for refusing to sell North Korea ski lifts.”
Rodman has made four trips to North Korea.
