49ers’ Michael Crabtree to Play This Sunday

The San Francisco 49ers are re-activating their big-time receiver for this Sunday’s game against the St. Louis Rams. After suffering an Achilles injury last spring, wide receiver Michael Crabtree is set to make his season debut for the team.

After the 49ers win against the Washington Redskins Monday night, Coach Jim Harbaugh said that Crabtree would be activated from the physically unable to perform list on Tuesday and will play against St. Louis on Sunday.

“Crabtree’s coming back [this] week, and hopefully, we get a few other guys back,” Harbaugh told reporters. “Because we need them all.”

Crabtree has been practicing with the team since November 5. He originally tore his right Achilles tendon on May 21.

NFL rules state that teams have 21 days to decide whether to activate players after their return to practice or to put them on the sidelines for the rest of the season. The 49ers decided to activate Crabtree on Tuesday.
