Second Woman Ordered to Repay Michael Jordan’s Legal Fees Over Paternity Suit

Michael Jordan has reason to celebrate after he cleared his name from two cases of paternity filed against him.

In March, Pamela Smith shared a video of her 17-year old son on YouTube claiming he was the son of  the former NBA player. The hall of famer quickly sued claiming that paternity had been established for the teenager in 2003 and results found Smith’s now ex-husband was the teen’s father.

Smith would later drop the case, stating through her lawyer: “Ms. Smith has relied on our advice and determined that dismissal at this time, without prejudice, is in her son’s best interest.”

Not soon enough however, because in July, a judge ordered Smith to pay Jordan’s legal bills totaling $9,704.13, according to records.

The ruling wasn’t enough to scare off another accuser, Laquetta Theus, who claimed Jordan fathered her 3-year old son. Similar to Smith’s case, paternity had already established that the child’s father was a man named Hubert Henderson Jr.

Theus claimed that was one of Jordan’s many aliases.

True or not, a judge ruled that Theus must pay Jordan’s legal fees of $6, 510. 61.
