‘Criminal Minds’ Season 9, Episode 9: ‘Strange Fruit′

Criminal-Minds strange fruit

On tonight’s Criminal Minds season 9, episode 9: “Strange Fruit,” when skeletons are found in the backyard of a Virginia home, the BAU centers its investigation on the family living there, unearthing family secrets rooted in the past racial divisions in the South.

Criminal Minds is based on an elite team of FBI profilers who analyze the country’s most twisted criminal minds, anticipating their next moves before they strike again. The Behavioral Analysis Unit’s most experienced agent is David Rossi, a founding member of the BAU, who returns to help the team solve new cases. The team is led by Special Agent Aaron Hotchner, a strong profiler who is able to gain people’s trust and unlock their secrets.

Other team members include Jennifer “J.J.” Jareau, Penelope Garcia, Emily Prentiss, Special Agent Dr. Spencer Reid, and Special Agent Derek Morgan. Prentiss is a former Interpol agent and daughter of high-powered diplomats whose past life has caught up with her, leading to her presumed demise. Morgan is an expert on obsessional crimes. Dr. Reid is a classically misunderstood genius whose social IQ is as low as his intellectual IQ is high. Garcia is a computer wizard who helps research the cases. Jareau is the team’s confident unit liaison who was called to a top Pentagon job, but returns to the BAU under mysterious circumstances. Each individual provides their own area of knowledge to the table as they identify predators’ reasons and determine their emotional stimulates in the attempt to stop them.
