Anthony Mackie Arrested for Alleged Drunk Driving in New York

Anthony Mackie arrested for DUI in New York City Anthony Mackie was arrested for allegedly driving drunk early Saturday morning in New York City after he was pulled over for his tinted windows.

According to law enforcements in New York, Mackie was pulled over at approximately 1:30 a.m. for having tinted windows on his 2010 Dodge Charger, which are illegal in the Big Apple.

It wasn’t long, however, before his windows became the least of his problems.

The officer noticed Mackie’s eyes were bloodshot and claimed that there was the smell of alcohol coming from the “Gangster Squad” actor’s breath.

He insisted that he only had one beer, but a few field tests allegedly suggested otherwise.

While he refused to take a Breathalyzer test, he still failed several of the sobriety tests, which was enough to prove he didn’t need to be behind the wheel.

The 35-year-old actor was immediately handcuffed and taken to the 28th Precinct in Central Harlem, where he was booked and refused another blood-alcohol test.

According to TMZ refusing the blood-alcohol test means that Mackie’s license will be automatically suspended.

Mackie was released from jail after facing the Criminal Court in Manhattan later that day and will be due back in court on Dec. 19, where he will face two misdemeanor counts of drunken driving.

In addition to Gangster Squad, Mackie has also starred in The Hurt Locker, Pain & Gain and 8 Mile.
