nicki-minaj-power-new-albumYoung Money rapper Nicki Minaj is one of the most sought-after artists for guest features, and when she is featured, she almost always outshines her male counterparts.

Now Minaj fans can look forward to hearing a solo project from her, as she’s confirmed that her next  album will be coming soon.

According to huffingtonpost.com:

“Minaj told New York radio station Power 105.1 that she’s already been quietly working on her next album.”

“It’s very different from anything I’ve done, which I’m surprised about,”  said Minaj. “I’m not feeling like I did this. I feel like this is next level.

“And with the album, thank God, I’ve experienced so much in the last year and a half that there is so much for me to talk about, and I know my fans are going to be excited about it,” she said.

This new work would Minaj’s third solo LP. Her last album Pink Friday was released 18 months ago, and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200 charts. Although there’s no official date she says the new album will be out next year.

During the interview Nicki also addressed rapper Kendrick Lamar’s Control verse saying:

“I’m probably in the top five… he did mention so go and do your research. Straight up and down,” she said. “I also feel like maybe he is one of the respectful gentleman that probably wanted to feel like ‘I didn’t want to say a female’s name.’… I’m the queen of New York, I’m the king of New York,” she continued. “Let me tell you why. Platinum albums, plural. Number one in five … countries. Don’t play with me.”
