Dwight Howard Missed Dunk, Got Booed By Clippers Fans In Return To LA

Clippers fans booed Dwight Howard Monday night after he missed an easy dunk in his first game back in L.A. since he abandoned the Lakers for the Houston Rockets.

Not only was Howard booed during the pregame show, he also got negative cheers every time he touched the ball early in the game. Howard was able to get some applause from the crowd, but maybe not the kind he wanted. In the first quarter, he got the ball low in the paint to throw down a monster jam on Clippers DeAndre Jordan, but missed the point blank shot, throwing the ball into the front row instead.  The crown wasted no time filling the arena with cheers at Howard’s expense.

Howard left L.A. with $30 million on the table to sign a 5-year $88 million free agent deal with Houston. He did gain about $50 million to line his pockets, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he has no fans in Los Angeles.

The Rockets didn’t have an answer defensively all night for the Clippers who won 137-118, handing Houston their first loss of the season.
