Defensive end DeMarcus Ware, is ready to return to the field after missing the last three games with a thigh injury, Dallas Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones announced Tuesday.
Ware played in 134 straight games prior to injuring his leg. He will play in Sunday night’s game against the New Orleans Saints, Jones said.
While speaking on a radio show on KRLD-FM, Jones talked for a while about Ware’s playing status before saying, “I think he’s ready.”
Jones also said Ware took his time to recover because the Cowboys didn’t want to rush him back to the field, fearing that he may re-injure his leg.
“I’m going to call it, made an investment into the future and the latter part of the season to be conservative on how fast we put him out there,” Jones said.
