Isaiah Rashad may not be widely known yet, but lately he has been garnering quite the healthy buzz on the underground rap scene. If his momentum begins to pick up, it will be only a matter of time before he breaks into the consciousness of mainstream media. This week Rashad, who is a new member of Kendrick Lamar’s TDE camp, dropped the new track “Ronnie Drake” for fans. According to rap-up.com:
“TDE continues to impress with its talented roster. With Kendrick Lamar on top and Schoolboy Q up next, the label brings together its newest signees, Isaiah Rashad and SZA, on The Antydote-produced ‘Ronnie Drake.’
“The Chattanooga MC drops some knowledge on his powerful bars, while SZA sings the soulful hook. ‘Came a long way from a boat and an auction/ Now we got names and a vote and a coffin,’ raps Isaiah.”
Hailing from Chattanooga, Tenn., Isaiah Rashad hopes to represent the South in the Black Hippy crew, which is led by West coast influences Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q.
