James Harden bruised his right knee in the Houston Rockets Friday night preseason game against the Memphis Grizzlies and has been listed as day-to-day as a result.

In Houston’s 92-73 victory game, the Rockets’ guard bumped his knee with Memphis’ Quincy Pondexter in the first quarter. Harden left the game and did not return.

“He iced it and stuff, and we’ll see how he feels (Saturday),” Rockets coach Kevin McHale said indicating that it may not be a serious injury.

Harden, who is averaging a team-leading 20.8 points in the preseason, went down to the ground with 4:35 left in the first quarter after he was fouled by Pondexter.

When Harden got up, he made his subsequent free throw and headed to the locker room.

Harden left the game with six points and four rebounds in only seven-plus minutes of play.
