Dodgers right fielder Yasiel Puig raised his team from the dead against the St. Louis Cardinals Monday night. Down to the Cardinals in the National League Championship Series, the Dodgers managed to blank St. Louis 3-0, establishing that they have no plans to end their season yet.
The Dodgers, led by Puig who had a crucial RBI triple, outplayed the Cardinals in front of a boisterous Dodger Stadium crowd, to bring the series to 2-1 in the best-of-seven.
“Realistically, you felt like it was a must-win,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. “Obviously, they still have the upper hand, but you feel like you’re back in the series.
“I think the playoffs is a one-day momentum swing, and right now, I feel like we kind of grabbed it.”
