Alicia Keys is unquestionably one of the best voices of this generation. Every time an older person laments about there being no good singers these days, Keys should be one of the first examples to prove the contrary. This week she is proving that she’s way more than just a great voice. The New York City songstress is not only executive producing the new movie “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” but she’s also lent her breathtaking vocals to the soundtrack in a new song, “Better You, Better Me.” As reported by vibe.com:
“While Alicia Keys has signed on as executive producer for the forthcoming film, Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, the singer has also contributed to the soundtrack. The George Tillman, Jr.-directed films stars Anthony Mackie, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks and Jeffrey Wright.”
Aside from executive producing “The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete,” according to complex.com, Alicia also scored the music for the film and “Better You, Better Me” is her first offering from the work. According to Alicia Key’s Vevo page:
“‘Better You, Better Me’ by Alicia Keys is original music from the film THE INEVITABLE DEFEAT OF MISTER & PETE, a beautifully observed and tremendously moving film about salvation through friendship and the way transformation sometimes can happen just by holding on long enough.”
“The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete” debuts in theaters today. In the meantime, check out Alicia Keys “Better You, Better Me”
