Kerry Washington has remained relatively mum on her surprise marriage to NFL football player Nnamdi Asomugha, but she’s willing to talk about another relationship in the latest issue of Essence.
Looking gorgeous in gold on the cover of Essence, the “Scandal” star discussed her relationship with God:
“I believe in surrendering my life over to my Creator. I feel as if my relationship with God is the most important thing in my life. If I can get that relationship right, it helps me to understand how to negotiate every other relationship.”
In another released portion of the cover story, the actress dished on the difference between her fashion choices and that of “Scandal” character Olivia Pope.
“Olivia has three [fashion] modes: Work Olivia, Black-Tie Gala Olivia and At Home Olivia,” Washington stated. “My fashion is more eclectic: There’s Going to Work Kerry, which is gym clothes and Nike kicks. That’s the Bronx girl. There’s also Red Carpet Kerry and Out to Dinner With Friends Kerry.”
