Clemson’s Isaiah Battle Ejected After Sucker Punching Opponent

Late in the fourth quarter, when the game was a clear a win for Clemson, lineman Isaiah Battle sucker punched NC State safety, Jarvis Byrd, putting him on his back.

Battle connected with an uppercut punch and got into a defensive fighting stance, which led to a tussle between the two teams. All of this happened in plain view of the officials. Battle was immediately ejected and sent to the locker rooms. There is no word yet of any additional punishment, but Battle with probable face suspension from the ACC.

After the game, Clemson’s head coach Dabo Swinney told reporters Battle’s “poor” behavior didn’t represent Clemson.

Battle is a sophomore standing at 6’7″ 275 lbs., who many believe could excel on the pro level, but is going to have to cut out the stupid mistakes to make it there.
