“Scandal” star Columbus Short will have to put on his gladiator suit after his wife of nearly nine years filed for divorce Wednesday. Short and his dancer wife, Tuere McCall-Short, were married in 2005.
According to Radar Online:
“Tuere is seeking sole legal and physical custody of their daughter, Ayala, 19 months. The petition states the couple was married in 2005, and lists the date of separation as September 9, 2013. Columbus portrays Harrison Wright on ABC’s hit television show, Scandal. Tuere is seeking spousal support, and wants Columbus to pay her legal fees.”
This will be the second divorce for the young actor whose cheating scandal with singer Britney Spears ended his first marriage. At the time of the divorce in 2004, Short told Star magazine:
“It’s true I slept with Britney, [but] we never had sex because another person was in the room at the time. ‘We shared a bed and were really close, kissing and hugging. The chemistry was magical…our feelings were so strong.’
“Britney’s mom, Lynne, stepped in to prevent that as soon as our feelings started to develop. It would be fair to say Britney caused major problems in our marriage. Sadly, we’re now getting divorced.”
