Black celebrities in Hollywood are among the most image-conscious on the planet. Many of them have used plastic surgery in an effort to enhance their appearance -- some make minor adjustments, others undergo extreme changes and the results are not always pretty. There are a number of explanations that these celebrities give for going under the knife, but the one common denominator appears to be low self-esteem. Here's a list of black celebrities who have used surgery to alter their looks. There's lil' doubt that rapper Lil Kim has had a nose job, lip injections, breast implants and every other type of surgical "enhancement" that can be legally performed in America. There is speculation that singer Rihanna had done work on her nose, but the breast implants have been confirmed. We could just put the entire Jackson family on this list, but when it comes to singer Janet Jackson, her nose job takes center stage. Outspoken reality star Tamar Braxton is clearly harboring some self-esteem issues that she uses to justify going under the knife. “I believe in plastic surgery or anything you have to do to make yourself feel good. I’m all about self-esteem,” she said, adding, "I’ve had my nose done.” Singer Kelly Rowland has confirmed she has breast implants. The possibility of a nose job is still under investigation. LeToya Luckett is also suspected of having work done to her nose, but the former Destiny's Child singer has denied all allegations. Actress Halle Berry is considered by many to be the most beautiful women in the world, but for years rumors have swirled over whether she had surgery on her nose. Those breasts have been adjusted by a surgeon for sure. Actor-singer Queen Latifah reduced the size of her breasts -- she went from an E-cup to a DD -- but she draws the line there. “There are people who love plastic surgery and want to cut and chop anything. I’m like, `Y’all are crazy!’” she said in an interview. Breast implants, butt injections, a nose job - you name the procedure and rapper Nicki Minaj has more than likely had it. Singer Toni Braxton has had two breast augmentations and one nose job. She says she will not undergo any more surgeries. “I don’t want to be a turkey, stuffed and plucked and baked,” she joked.
