Wale is still promoting the album he released this summer, “The Gifted.” The D.C. rapper is one of the best new rappers lyrically, but he often gets overshadowed by other artists like Kendrick Lamar, Drake or even MMG label mate, Meek Mill. But that hasn’t stopped Wale’s efforts to keep relevant and get the credit he’s due. His latest attempt is a mini documentary chronicling his performances from Canada to Europe. According to vibe.com:
“VIBE.COM presents the premiere of Wale’s Europe/Toronto travel documentary. The MMG rapper travels to Europe and performs with Rihanna on her Diamonds World Tour. Then its off to Toronto for Drake’s OVO Festival. Consider this your backstage pass. Directed by Ryan Snyder and Spiff TV.”
Wale’s album “The Gifted” was released to critical acclaim, and is one of the best of a great class of summer rap albums. Fans can also expect to hear Wale heavily featured on the Maybach Music compilation “Self Made, Vol. 3″ that comes out on Tuesday.
