Nene Leakes, star of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” sadly but proudly diced up her nose a few years ago. “I still wanted to look like NeNe, the black woman that I am, but a better version,” Leakes said of her nose job.
Lil Wayne has participated in multiple occurrences of self-hate. The rapper, who once referred to Nigerian hair as “tough,” said in one of his songs, “Beautiful black woman, I bet that b***h look better red,” implying that lighter skin looks better than darker skin.
Sadly, he has a young daughter who has beautiful black skin. One can only imagine the impact these statements can have on her and other young girls.
