Denver Broncos player Von Miller, is facing a six-game suspension for violation of the league’s drug policy. The linebacker’s representatives are still negotiating with the NFL to get the ban reduced to four games.
Miller is reportedly not going the challenge the ruling, but both sides are trying to finalize the suspension conditions.
NFL Players Association officials met with Miller last week to discuss whether they could get the suspension reduced to four games. But the organization alerted the all-star player that he may be out for least six games.
Miller was flagged for a “diluted sample,” after taking a drug test that concerned the NFL officials. The results came after Miller was surprised with a random drug test right before an offseason practice. That sample was spilled by Miller minutes before he handed it to the drug tester. Thereafter, Miller was asked to provide another sample, which he could not.
He then practiced and took in fluids throughout the workout. After the practice, Miller provided another sample that was used for the test, but the damage was already done as he was flagged for suspicious behavior.
The decision on Miller’s suspension is expected this week.
