J.J. Abrams Perplexes With Mysterious New ‘Stranger’ Teaser

J.J. Abrams has released a mysterious and cryptic teaser trailer for an unknown project from his Bad Robot production company. Titled “Stranger,” the clip lives up to its name as black-and-white footage presents an unknown man with stringy hair struggling to get out of the ocean and concludes with a haunting image of a man with his lips sewn shut.

It’s unclear what Abrams is trying to promote with the teaser. It’s very unlikely it has anything to do with Star Wars: Episode VII, which is set to go into production next year.  Bad Robot has two shows premiering in the upcoming TV season: Believe and Almost Human – but it’s difficult to see how the teaser is connected to either one.

J.J. Abrams, of course,  is a master of secrecy, and uses this skill as a means to surprise audiences in both his film and television projects. So until the famed director reveals what he is up to, we are in the dark about this strange “Stranger” teaser.
