In Tuesday’s game at Yankee Stadium against the Detroit Tigers, Soriano went deep against pitcher Justin Verlander for hit 2,000 and career homer 392 to kick off his impressive week.
In Wednesday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels, The 37-year-old outfielder added seven more RBI to his six RBI from Tuesday’s game, putting him in some impressive company such as, Tony Lazzeri, Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth.
Soriano hit a pair of home runs — including a first-inning grand slam — off Jered Weaver, who allowed nine runs in five innings of work. Yankees beat the Angels 11 to 3.
