Samuel L. Jackson Agrees to Play Villain In ‘The Secret Service’

Actors Colin Firth and Taron Egerton were recently cast in the film, “The Secret Service,” and now it’s being reported that Samuel L. Jackson has been chosen as the villain.

The search for the main villain led director, Matthew Vaughn, to the likes of Tom Cruise and Leonardo DiCaprio, yet it was Jackson who signed the dotted line. All that’s missing from the cast is a female A-lister. Emma Watson and Bella Heathcote are reportedly both in the running for the female lead.

The film is an adaptation of  Mark Miller and Dave Gibbons’ graphic novel, “The Secret Service,” which has a tentative production start for the fall.

Jackson’s upcoming films include Spike Lee’s “Oldboy,” a remake of “Robocop,” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Jackson hasn’t played many villain roles this late in his career, but check out a clip from the film, “The Spirit,” in which he played a rather convincing one.
