Coach Mike Shanahan reportedly threw Griffin into the fire by conducting an extensive workout yesterday after team doctors cleared him to return to practice. The coach still wouldn’t speak on whether Griffin will play in the preseason games. A source close to the team mentioned that the coach is pessimistic about Griffin’s return to the preseason games.
An office employee in the Redskin’s organization said the coach will not want to subject Griffin to any hits this summer. Shanahan was partially blamed in the media for not taking Griffin out of the playoff game, which resulted in the quarterback tearing his ACL.
The Washington Redskins open their regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, September 9th.
