Jason Heyward Makes Amazing Catch to Defeat NY Mets

Atlanta Braves Jason Heyward made an amazing catch to save his team from a major loss.

With the Braves clinging to a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the ninth, if Heyward had dropped the ball, it would have meant the New York Mets would tie the game or maybe even win.

With runners stationed at first and second base for the Mets, Justin Turner’s fly ball was headed toward the left-center gap. Heyward managed to use his speed and length to make a spectacular catch that ended the game.

In an interview afterward, Heyward said: “I knew I had to dive off the bat, because I didn’t think it was within my reach, as I got closer, I was thinking, ‘Obviously, you’re going to try to make the play with two outs and the game on the line. If you don’t catch it, so be it.’ Fortunately, I was able to get a good enough jump.”
