Rockstar games released the trailer for the flagship franchise “Grand Theft Auto 5,” and from the looks of the video it should not disappoint. The 5-minute clip gives an extensive look into the game that should be released in September. The GTA series has always been known for its fully interactive experience with the digital environment, and from the looks of this clip, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call the new game a fully interactive movie! As reported by theverge.com:
“The video also details how having three main characters will influence the structure of the game, and shows off some of the many diversions you’ll be able to partake in when you’re not pulling off heists, including, golf, hunting, and, um, yoga. You can even invest in the stock market and real estate. Perhaps most interesting is the ever-so-brief glimpse at multiplayer towards the end of the trailer, which shows players flying jets. We should be hearing more on GTA V‘s online multiplayer soon.”
Rockstar games is seemingly trying to create a truly customizable user experience for gamers to play out real-world fantasies. According to IGN.com:
“most of the new things we saw were optional: tennis, golf and cycling all look like deep game systems in themselves rather than basic mini-games. We also glimpsed base-jumping, previously mentioned but never shown. You can also invest the money that you make in the stock market and in property, using what looks like a whole self-contained in-game Internet. We’ve seen diving before, but there’s also a whole hunting sim in there, taking advantage of the SoCal wilderness…Rockstar has previously made assurances that customization is a big part of Grand Theft Auto V, and the trailer shows that in action for the first time as well. You can change characters’ clothing and tattoos, and customise vehicles Midnight Club-style – right down to the rims.”
This is a far cry from Nintendo’s Super Mario Brothers of the 80’s. I can’t wait to get my hands on the new Grand Theft Auto 5, and hopefully Rockstar will share more on the multiplayer feature. My imagination is overflowing with the possibilities, is yours? Tell us what you think of the video.
