Get Up On This: Jay-Z and Timberlake’s New Track From ‘Magna Carta’

Magna Carta Holy Grail is here for Samsung users and apparently on the Internet. While the rest of the world waits for the album to released, here’s a new track featuring Hov’s Suit and Tie collaborator and Legends of Summer tour mate: Justin Timberlake. The new track is a divergence of this year’s earlier collaboration. According to MTV.com:

“…with the Justin Timberlake-assisted Holy Grail ...remarkably dissimilar from the groovy Suit & Tie, the Legends of Summer new collab doesn’t inspire dance moves as much as it does deep thought and emotion. ‘You take the clothes off my back and I let you,’ Timberlake wails before he ponders: ‘And I still don’t why I love you so much.'”

Keeping in the vein of the Holy Grail even the album artwork is making news. As reported by guardian.co.uk:

” To tie in with the release, the rapper has made one of the most important documents in the history of humankind become an ad for his hip-hop record, by premiering the LP artwork alongside the original. On Tuesday, Magna Carta Holy Grail‘s cover art was sealed in a wood and glass box and unveiled on a plinth in Salisbury Cathedral’s chapter house. Until the end of July, the black and white image will have pride of place next to one of the four remaining copies of the Magna Carta, sealed by King John.

“We are delighted that Jay-Z has chosen Salisbury Cathedral … as the location for the global premiere of his artwork,” June Osborne, dean of Salisbury, told the Salisbury Journal. “We know how important the Magna Carta, and all it represents, is to people across the globe. The ideals it embodies are still relevant today. Jay-Z, through his album, is creating a huge awareness of this historic document and its modern significance to a huge audience in the run up to its 800th anniversary in 2015.”

Magna Carta Holy Grail is already groundbreaking as it is the first album to debut with platinum status. A feat that was accomplished by the RIAA changing their rules for the unorthodox release, adhering to Jay-Z writing  “new rules.”

We’re sure it won’t is won’t disappoint. Take a listen above and tell us what you think.
