Jerry Bruckheimer’s The Lone Ranger is near its July 3 release and the trailers have been running on TV and the internet like mad. Today, a brand new featurette for The Lone Ranger surfaced on Yahoo! Movie’s website showing off the “Spirit Platform.” It’s a fairly small unsafe looking stage constructed on the edge of a cliff in Moeb, Utah, at which a frightful Armie Hammer stands atop for an aerial shot.
Director Gore Verbinski is using his talents to recreate the famous tale of a John Reid, a man of the law and his unusual Native American spirit sidekick warrior named Tonto. The story will be told from the point of view of Tonto—played by Johnny Depp. In addition to Depp and Hammer, the cast includes Helena Bonham, Ruth Wilson, James Badge Dale, Barry Pepper, William Fichtner and Tom Wilkinson.
