There are four superhero movies coming out this year. The Wolverine is the one that I keep forgetting is happening. It’s not the movie’s fault… wait, yes it is. Because I mean, good grief, Wolverine has already been the star of four other movies. I tire of this hairy immortal Canadian with metal claws.
Anyway, a new one-minute trailer for the film premiered at CinemaCon, and now it’s online for the world to see. We get a lot of new shots, including Wolverine fighting the Silver Samurai, getting bogged down in ninjas, walking through temples, and generally doing other Japan-y things. Also a lady peels off her face, which is gross.
Set sometime after X-Men: The Last Stand, Logan travels to Japan, where he engages a mysterious figure from his past in a fight that has lasting consequences. Vulnerable for the first time, and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel, but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than ever before.
