Alright acapella nerds just try to contain your excitement because Pitch Perfect will be back for round 2.
As you ought to know by now, Rebel Wilson killed it as the host of the MTV movie awards. She got the show going with a little help from her Pitch Perfect co-stars, including Skylar Astin, Brittany Snow, and Anna Camp. The film’s title star, Anna Kendrick, was noticeably absent because she’s presumably off filming the Broadway turned movie musical sensation, The Last 5 Years. Anyway, after their crowd pleasing performance it became more apparent than ever that a Pitch Perfect sequel really should happen.
Lucky for the fans, our friends over at Vulture confirmed that there would indeed be a Pitch Perfect 2 set to hit theaters in 2015. The original screenwriter Kay Cannon will be back as well and fingers crossed the original cast will follow her lead.
Just in case you don’t know what the hype is all about, I strongly recommend seeing the movie. In the mean time, check out the music video and extended version of Anna Kendrick’s Cups (When I’m Gone), a song she made famous in Pitch Perfect.
