Snoop Lion Records Theme Song for New ‘One Life to Live’ Series

NEW YORK – When Snoop Dogg recorded “The Next Episode,” no one realized he was talking about soaps: The newly christened Snoop Lion will both record the theme song of the new “One Life to Live” and appear as himself in several episodes.

Prospect Park/The Online Network, which is producing the new version of the show, announced Friday that Snoop will write, perform and produce a theme song called “Brand New Start” featuring singer Iza Lach.

The idea of a brand new start resonates with both “One Life to Live” and Snoop Lion because, well, you know. The series is getting a new life after it was canceled by ABC.

On the series, Snoop Lion will visit the fictional town of Llanview to promote his new film, “Reincarnated” which documents his transition from Snoop Dogg to Snoop Lion.

In his previous life, Snoop made several cameos on the old version of the show.

“We’re thrilled to have the support of such an iconic artist, like Snoop Lion. To have him write and produce the theme song for this series and to have the amazingly talented Iza Lach on board, is just incredible. We are extremely grateful and excited for fans to hear the new theme song and, of course, catch Snoop Lion in upcoming episodes,” said Jeff Kwatinetz, chairman and CEO of Prospect Park.

The new episodes will be available through Hulu and iTunes beginnning April 29.
